POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ecofin private sustainable infrastructure platform provides debt and equity capital for projects related to 501(c)(3) organizations, nonprofits and other taxable and tax-exempt entities in the strategies of education, healthcare, and energy transition including waste transition, solar, wind, and battery storage. The analyst role is responsible for in-depth research and analysis in support of all development initiatives related to the platform, including, but not limited to the strategic direction of the platform, credit underwriting, product development, competitive analysis, and sector-specific research in the areas of education, healthcare, housing, project finance and human services providers. Additionally, the analyst will support all portfolio management efforts and aid in the marketing of all products on the platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Support platform development by providing diligence, market research, competitive analysis and modeling specific to social impact investments
  • Fulfill research requests by developing and delivering clear, accurate presentations of research results, written and orally
  • Leverage working knowledge of tax-exempt municipal bond markets in order to provide assistance with the funding of social impact projects and the allocation to investment vehicles
  • Assist in the monitoring and surveillance of existing portfolio holdings as well as with communication regarding the social impact deal pipeline
  • Provide weekly reports that include industry research, impact statistics, attribution, risk and performance metrics that are relevant to the portfolio management process
  • Provide support to business, product development and distribution channel efforts through the creation and presentation of research and financial analysis specific to social impact products
  • Research and provide timely market data and analysis when necessary to assist in the production of marketing publications such as white papers, investor letters and client presentations.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Training, Registrations or Certifications

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in economics, finance, accounting or related area with a demonstrated record of academic success
  • Graduate degree in business and/or active pursuit of Chartered Financial Analyst designation preferred

Work-related Experience

  • 2+ years of work experience in the fields of fixed income, private equity, or investment banking
  • 1+ years of experience in the following areas:
    • Investment research, modeling, and analysis
    • Creating fund presentations and client facing materials
    • Serving as intermediary between product development and sales/distribution efforts

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Highly advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg, with in-depth modelling experience
  • Proactive problem solving, strong analytical skills, and critical thinking abilities
  • Extremely strong written, oral, interpersonal and presentation communication skills
